ENEMY MINE
What results Uruguay is able to obtain in the upcoming World Cup depends on many factors, it should be noted however that Uruguay enters the upcoming World Cup with the sober reality that 2 out of the 3 rival group coaches are more than familiar with Uruguay’s playing style and some of the players.
South Africa’s coach, Carlos Alberto Parreira, is a Brazilian tactician that should be familiar to Uruguayans, not just for being Brazil’s coach in the 1994 World Cup but also for masterminding and blocking Uruguay’s participation in that World Cup. Uruguay and Parreira have bumped heads throughout the years at various Celeste epochs.

The other coach is Javier “El Vasco” Aguirre… Aguirre who was Mexico’s coach in the 2001 Copa America is responsible for Uruguay’s defeat in the semifinals of that tournament, but that’s ancient history, a more alarming cause for concern is that Aguirre has more intimate knowledge of Diego Forlan than Forlan’s own girlfriend Zaira Nara (see below picture) ––– due to the fact that Aguirre was Forlan’s coach at Atletico Madrid for at least 2 years. It would be interesting to see if this “inside knowledge” pays dividends for Mexico in the 2010 World Cup.

interesting to see that with peirra we have only lost 1 match from wat i can see… dont know if that counts for much…as for forlans misses… wow his my idol =P…no wonder he loves scoring
Yeah thats another good reason to admire Forlan.
Guys that was against Brasil, please don’t compare South Africa to Brasil. We don’t want to insult the hosts.
Forlan is easy to work out so that’s fine, he can know all he wants.
Vamos Uruguay Vamos!!!
Yes that is true… but Parreira is more than familiar with Uruguay’s many playing styles (going for the draw, pelotazo-ball, and most of the key players)— so don’t be shocked if S.A. is able to gut out a draw or a win over Uruguay.
As for Aguirre, I’m not saying that the fact that he coached Forlan will enable Mexico to get the win, but it will be interesting to see how Aguirre has his defenders play Forlan. The same thing happened in 2006 when Italy’s Lippi went against his former “pupil” Zidane, and looked what happened? He came out with the “Low-Life” playbook in order to rattle Zizou from his “game.”
