“Tabarez, how about these guys?”
I doubt anybody can change El Maestro’s mind this late in the game regarding his call-up list and I would never suggest Tabarez try these guys for the Repechaje, but why not try these guys out in a friendly match, one of them has already been suggested by Nico, the other one is sort of related to Recoba and the last is a defender that might be more useful than Carlos Valdez, well at least for a header anyway. The Phantom Punch Fallout
If a “love tap” earned El Cebolla a four-game ban what will a misplaced slide tackle earn him during a World Cup match? I’m not excusing Cebolla because I’m under the opinion that whatever Cebolla did was dumb to begin with but it does seem a bit excessive on FIFA’s part to come down so hard on Cebolla.
“You, Me and Tabarez”
When this is all over, what will these Qualifiers say about Oscar Tabarez? What I mean by this, chiefly looking at the Qualifiers as a measuring stick and excluding Copa America Performances & International Friendlies from the debate… Have these Qualifiers been kind to the overall work of Oscar Tabarez? A lot of outside factors beyond El Maestro’s control interfered with what Tabarez wanted to accomplish and a lot of it was brought on by Tabarez himself. Read the rest of this entry »
